INTRO TO PHOTOSHOP
I took Intro to Photoshop my first quarter with Nelson Carnicelli at Miami Ad School. Keep in mind I had never opened or looked in the direction of photoshop before this quarter, so I was a little bit terrified. If I must say, at the end of this 10-week course Nelson gave me the confidence I needed to overcome and feel less intimidated with my photoshop fears. Check out some of my projects I did in photoshop below:
PRODUCT AD
This was the first project I ever made in Photoshop. The assignment was to create a print ad for a magazine of a product of our choosing. As Covid-19 hit, so did the face mask, which means some much-needed time with our own breaths. As I brushed my teeth one night the idea came. I used the tools and techniques taught in class to compose this print ad.
SELF PORTRAIT
2020 was an exhausting year to say the least, quarantine has given me this time of self-reflection, not only am I finding myself as I exist now, but I'm also finding more clarity into who I want to be. I created this surrealist self-portrait in photoshop entitled “shoot for the stars aim for the moon" as my self-portrait in pursuit of becoming a better person as i’m the only one in charge of my destiny.
WEB BANNER & INSTAGRAM POST
For this assignment, we as asked to create two banner ads one for a website that your ad could be seen on, followed by a call to action mock up Instagram post for a client of our choosing. I chose Pattern Beauty hair products, a client I'm personally familiar with and use daily to nourish my natural coily hair.
BOOK COVER: Lord of the flies
This project called to redesign a classic novel book cover.A favorite of mines in school was lord of the flies.I wanted to give the book cover a more slightly dark and savage tone with a minimal aesthetic style. The pig’s head on the stack symbolizes the human evil that has been unleashed on the island.I thought it would be significant to showcase the boys on the mountain in all their savagery.
